Wilson County Divorce Records
The type of divorce proceeding determines the court that handles the matter in Wilson County. The General Sessions Court Division III - Family Court has general jurisdiction over divorce and other family law matters. However, the Chancery Court also has jurisdiction over some divorce cases.
Most divorce records are public and may be viewed or copied by members of the public. However, records that have been sealed by court order or are otherwise restricted by law are not available for public access.
Divorce records may be inspected or obtained from the courthouse where the case was filed and adjudicated. Older records that are no longer maintained by the court may be available through the Wilson County Archives.
